Job Summary
We are seeking a Laser/Optical Engineering Intern with hands-on experience working in a laser lab and with optical components. The ideal candidate will be currently pursuing a degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and possess practical experience with laser beam coupling, shaping, and divergence. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to work on exciting projects and gain practical experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Laser System Development: Assist in the development and optimization of laser systems, including beam coupling, shaping, and divergence management.
- Optical Component Handling: Work with lenses, mirrors, fibers, and other optical components to build and test optical setups.
- Software Utilization: Use software tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB for design and simulation purposes.
- Coding and Integration: Develop and test software for laser system control and data analysis using C++, Python, and JAVA.
- Electronics and 3D Printing: Support projects involving electronics integration and the design of 3D printed components for optical setups.
- Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data and provide insights for improving laser and optical system performance.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of experiments, designs, and project progress.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D team to support ongoing projects and contribute to new initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience in a laser lab, working with high-power lasers and optical components.
- Knowledge of laser beam coupling, shaping, and divergence.
- Proficiency in software tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB.
- Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and JAVA.
- Familiarity with electronics and 3D printing technologies.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
- Motivated to learn new technologies and take on challenging tasks.
